TWENTY10 YOUTH COMPANY

Twenty10 are an elite group of young professionals from Oldham College. These students have exceptional talent and have excellent potential in the dance industry. 

Here at ENTW9, we were able to have the opportunity to work with these fantastic students for 6 consecutive weeks to offer them a taste of ENTW9's choreographic skills working with improvisation, choreographic structures, all the way to working with props.

Together we worked towards the stimuli of a "Mad Hatters Tea Party", using the popular Alice in Wonderland narrative and conveying the dark secrets behind each character. With our research, it is known that each character represents a mental health illness; OCD, Anxiety, Schizophrenia, Tourettes Disorder and so on. Further research into these conditions enabled the dancers to find out more about these for us to start the creative process.

Our aim was to experience working in a collaborative environment and giving a taste of company life. Throughout our intensive workshops each week, we look at solo/duet/trio/group work, working with set, props, text and music, and improvisation to stem our movement flow.
